Baby’s Six Month Visit to MVP: What to Expect
Screenings:
- You will be asked to complete a postpartum mood questionnaire before the visit
What Happens at the Visit:
After the initial measurements from the medical assistant, your provider will join you in the room. During this time, we will:
- Discuss your baby’s feeding, behavior, and development
- Perform a full exam
- Answer all of your questions
We will spend some time during the visit discussing:
- How solid food introduction is going, including introduction of allergens
- Teeth eruption and what to expect with teething
Vaccines:
- Your child will receive boosters of Pediarix, Hiberix, and PCV15.
- Seasonally: Flu and Covid vaccines are offered. A 1 month booster will be recommended after the first dose.
Developmental Milestones:
- Motor: rolls from tummy to back, pushes up with straight arms when on tummy, “tripods” (leans on hands to support self when sitting)
- Language: Takes turns making sounds with you, blows ‘raspberries’, makes squealing noises
- Social: Knows familiar people, laughs, looks at self in mirror
- Cognitive: Puts things in mouth, reaches to grab toys, closes lips to show they are full
