Baby’s Four Month Visit to MVP: What to Expect
Screenings:
- You will be asked to complete a postpartum mood questionnaire before the visit
What Happens at the Visit:
After the initial measurements from the Medical Assistant, your provider will join you in the room. During this time, we will:

- Perform a full exam
- Answer all of your questions
We will spend some time during the visit discussing:
- How and when to start solid foods
- If your baby is ready to sleep through the night and how to sleep train
Vaccines:
Your child will receive boosters of the same 4 vaccines from the 2-month visit – Pediarix, Hiberix, PCV15, and Rotarix.
Developmental Milestones:
- Motor: holds head steady without support when being held, pushes up on elbows/forearms, brings hands to mouth, swings at toys
- Language: makes cooing sounds like ‘oooo’, ‘aahh’, turns head to sound of voice
- Social: Smiles to get your attention, chuckles, looks at you or moves/makes sound to get your attention
- Cognitive: If hungry, opens mouth when he/she sees breast or bottle, looks at hand with interest
