15 Month Visit

Your Child’s 15 Month Visit to MVP: What to Expect 

What Happens at the Visit:

After the initial measurements from the medical assistant, your provider will join you in the room. During this time, we will: 

  • Discuss your child’s growth
  • Perform a full exam 
  • Answer all of your questions 

We will spend some time during the visit discussing:

  • Safety and ‘toddler-proofing’
  • Your child’s development and what to expect in the next few months

Vaccines:

Your child will receive 3 boosters, and seasonally flu and/or covid vaccines

  • DTaP – protects against Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis 
  • Hiberix – protects against Haemophilus influenzae type b
  • PCV15 -15-valent vaccine against Streptococcus pneumoniae
  • Seasonally: Flu and COVID vaccines are offered. A 1 month booster will be recommended after the first dose.

Developmental Milestones:

  • Motor: takes a few steps, feeds self
  • Language/Communication: says one or two words other than ‘mama’ or ‘dada’, looks to familiar object when you name it, follows directions with gestures, points
  • Social: copies other childrens, shows you object they like, claps when excited, hugs stuffed doll, shows affection
  • Cognitive: tries to use things the right way (phone, cup, book), stacks at least two small objects
