Baby’s Nine Month Visit to MVP: What to Expect
Screenings:
- You will be asked to complete a developmental questionnaire before the visit. Please be advised the questionnaire is long and requires some testing/play with your child, so it is recommended that you work on it a few days before the visit.
Treatments:
- If your child has their first teeth, the medical assistant will apply fluoride
Meeting With your Provider:
After the initial measurements from the medical assistant, your provider will join you in the room. During this time, we will:
- Discuss your baby’s feeding and behavior
- Perform a full exam
- Answer all of your questions
We will spend some time during the visit discussing:
- How solid food introduction is going, including introduction of allergens and finger foods
- Your child’s development and review of the screening you complete
Vaccines:
- Seasonally – Flu and Covid vaccines are offered. A 1 month booster will be recommended after the first dose.
Developmental Milestones:
- Motor: gets to a sitting position by themself, moves things from hand to hand, sits without support, uses fingers to ‘rake’ food towards themself
- Language: Makes consonant sounds like ‘babababa’, ‘mamamama’
- Social: Knows familiar people, laughs, looks at self in mirror
- Cognitive: Lifts arms to be picked up, looks for object when dropped out of sight, bangs two objects together
